The timing was significant, as it is exactly 10 years since my first exhibition there, and it coincided with my 50th birthday. Producing this second exhibition was an exciting project. The Kunst Haus Wien is a vast exhibition space, on two huge floors, but it was still a challenge editing 25 years of imagery, together with curator Andreas Hirsch. The response on the two opening nights was overwhelming, and made all the hard work worthwhile. Many thanks to everyone who helped make this exhibition such a rewarding experience. You can see pictures from the opening nights HERE. The exhibition runs through until 9th June 2014. ANDREAS H. MARCEL HIRSCHER for SPORTMAGAZIN Austria http://www.bitesnich.com/good-news/article/marcel-hirscher-for-sportmagazin-austria/ After waiting for almost four months my pictures of Austrian Skiing star Marcel Hirscher are finally out. The production took place on a wonderful summer's day in August, the day before Marcel left Austria to train in South America. He was in top shape and it was great fun working with such a handsome and modest guy. Grab a copy of Austria's top sports mag Sportmagazin to see more. ]]> News Thu, 21 Nov 2013 09:01:00 +0100 PLACES & SPACES EXHIBITION IN DUBAI http://www.bitesnich.com/good-news/article/places-spaces-exhibition-in-dubai/ PLACES & SPACES exhibition at THE EMPTY QUARTER GALLERY in Dubai11th November - 12th December 2013 The opening night was great success, and we were even honoured by a visit from the crown prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum and the Austrian Ambassador Mr. Mag. NEW EXHIBITION - FOTO ART FESTIVAL POLAND http://www.bitesnich.com/good-news/article/new-exhibition-foto-art-festival-poland/ Pictures from my earlier two Deeper Shades volumes, New York and Tokyo, are currently being exhibited in Poland, as part of the Foto Art Festival in Bielsko-Biala. This is the first time I have exhibited in Poland, and I had a wonderful time, meeting my fellow artists, and photography fans. Now in its fifth year, the festival showcases the work of some of the world’s most amazing photographers and attracts a huge audience. I especially enjoyed meeting everyone who came to hear me speak, both at the opening ceremony, and for my (marathon 3-hour!) lecture. The Foto Festival runs until the 27th October. More information can be found on their website: https://sites.google.com/site/fotoartfestivalen/5th-fotoartfestival (English) https://sites.google.com/site/fotoartfestivalpl/ (Polish) Pictures from my earlier two Deeper Shades volumes, New York and Tokyo, are currently being exhibited in Poland, as part of the Foto Art Festival in Bielsko-Biala. PARIS BOOK PRINTED! http://www.bitesnich.com/good-news/article/paris-book-printed/ The third book in my Deeper Shades series went to print yesterday. Of all the volumes, #03 PARIS is probably the most personal to date. The approach to each book has been so different, and the images and energy of the books certainly reflect this. The images for Deeper Shades #01 New York were shot sporadically during many visits over a period of almost fifteen years. The images for Deeper Shades #02 Tokyo were shot during a hectic and intense two weeks in 2012. Although #03 PARIS contains earlier pictures, most of the images are from regular trips over the last twelve months. It has been an absolute joy creating these images, editing this book, and reinterpreting this beautiful and fascinating city. The printing itself went perfectly smoothly, and the technical excellence of the printing company, combined with the high quality of ink and paper, mean that DEEPER SHADES #03 PARIS looks exactly as I wished. As before, we have printed 960 numbered copies, and 20 special edition books with slipcase and original signed print. Here are some photos from the printing factory. Images from the book itself can be seen in the shop section. The book can also be pre-ordered (shipping date end of October): http://www.bitesnich.com/publications/deeper-shades-03-paris/

PORTRAIT SHOOT WITH PROF. ERNST FUCHS IN HIS VIENNA VILLA http://www.bitesnich.com/good-news/article/portrait-shoot-with-prof-ernst-fuchs-in-his-vienna-villa/ As part of my continuing series of celebrity portraits for Austria’s Schau magazine, I recently met up with artist Ernst Fuchs at his famous Villa. As one of the founders of the school of Fantastic realism, Ernst Fuchs is one of Austria’s living legends. It was a pleasure to visit him at the Otto Wagner-designed villa (saved by Fuchs from destruction in the 1960s), the interior of which is as colourful and humorous as the artist himself. We had a great time, and I was really impressed with his youthful energy and enthusiasm. Shooting Ernst Fuchs in his fantastic Villa (designed by Otto Wagner in 1888). Ernst Fuchs and I after the portrait shoot.

THE ARLES REPORT http://www.bitesnich.com/good-news/article/the-arles-report/ Just came back from a wonderful week in Arles. I really enjoyed my Tokyo book-signing at the Plac' Art booth. The great thing about Arles, is that not only do I get to meet fans of my own work, but I get to meet other photographers. It was great meeting the legendary Daido Moriyama in this informal setting. Another photographer I've admired for years, and finally met now in Arles, was Arno Rafael Minkkinen from Finland. After a guided tour of his amazing exhibition, he even allowed me to take his portrait. Book signing at Le Plac' Art booth. Book signing at Le Plac' Art booth. Book signing at Le Plac' Art booth.
